Rio Vista, Texas—Pecan Valley Centers received a generous $29,000 donation from Nolands River Lodge #453 that will significantly enhance the organization’s ability to provide critical assistance to veterans and their families throughout Johnson, Hood, Parker, Palo Pinto, Erath, and Somervell Counties.

In the past two years, Pecan Valley Centers’ Veteran Services Program has delivered nearly $400,000 in direct assistance to 219 veteran households. Johnson County remains a central focus of that mission: in 2026 alone, 39 Johnson County veteran families have already received more than $70,000 in life‑changing support.

“This donation is not just a financial gift—it is an investment in the safety, stability, and dignity of the men and women who served our country,” said Joshua Morrison, Pecan Valley Centers Director of Veteran and Substance Use Disorder Services. “It is also an investment in their children and in the future of this community.”

Donation Impact

The $29,000 contribution will directly support housing, utilities assistance, transportation support, and food security.

The donation could fund approximately:

  • 18 full rent or mortgage payments;

  • 149 utility bills;

  • 40,000 miles of transportation assistance; or

  • 140,000 meals

“These are not abstract numbers,” Morrison said. “These are your neighbors, your coworkers, and the parents of the children who attend school with your own.”
