Letter from the Executive Director
Dear Friends, Families, and Community Partners,
As I reflect on this past year, my heart has been filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Pecan Valley Centers’ Executive Director for our six-county region. For the past 50 years, Pecan Valley Centers has served as the Local Mental Health and Intellectual & Developmental Disability (IDD) Authority for Johnson, Somervell, Hood, Erath, Parker, and Palo Pinto counties. Every day, Pecan Valley Centers witnesses courage from individuals seeking help, from families supporting loved ones, and from a community that believes in hope and healing.
Pecan Valley Centers provides accessible, person-centered behavioral health care and developmental disability support to individuals of all ages. Our commitment remains grounded in a simple but profound belief: every person deserves help, hope, and the opportunity to thrive. This guiding purpose has shaped every service we provide—from mental health and substance use treatment to our community-based IDD programs.
This year, we are about to reach a particularly meaningful milestone in our Hood County location with our new 10,000 square-foot mental health outpatient facility, located at 1200 2nd Street in Granbury. This moment symbolizes our long-term investment in expanding and strengthening mental health care within our six-county catchment area.
As we look toward the year ahead, our vision remains steadfast: to continue breaking down barriers to health care, expanding access, and ensuring that every person who seeks help finds a welcoming, supportive place to begin their journey. Whether through mental health services, substance use support, or IDD programs, our promise is to meet individuals where they are—with dignity, respect, and unwavering hope.
None of this progress would be possible without the dedication of our extraordinary staff and our community partners, advocates, donors, and volunteers. Your belief in our mission fuels the healing we witness every day.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Ruben DeHoyos
